I am Jimmy Lapnawan, Jr.
I was born in the Philippines then immigrated to New York with my family. On a summer vacation to Florida, my parents fell in love with the sunny warm weather (as it reminded them of home) and decided we pack our things and move south. Central Florida is where I spent most of my childhood.
I met my wife, Christina, while in undergrad at the University of Central Florida. After her graduation, she began her Neuroscience studies at the University of Florida. At the same time, I transferred to UF, and graduated suma cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiological Sciences and a Minor in Chemistry. I stayed in Gainesville to earn my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and pursued a Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry in UF Shands Children’s Hospital. During this time, I specialized in comprehensive pediatric dentistry, infant oral health, children with special health care needs, and craniofacial anomalies. I also continued to advance my specialization by becoming Board Certified. I strive to learn the latest evidence-based techniques and treatment through CE courses and my affiliation with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry (WSPD), Washington Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (WAPD).
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our Husky-mix fur-baby Lea, watching movies and sports (rooting for my alma mater Gators), and exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
I am excited to be a part of the Silverdale Dental Center for Kids team and look forward to providing a fun dental atmosphere where children learn how to protect their little teeth and create smiles that last a lifetime.
