Meet Ammera Martin, DDS.
My path to dentistry was unconventional — it was rooted in my own family’s story. My family came to the United States as Cambodian refugees, and for years had no access to dental care — or even something as basic as a toothbrush. Watching my parents and other adults struggle with tooth loss and the need for dentures showed me early on how profoundly dental health affects a person’s quality of life and confidence. That experience ultimately led me to earn my dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry — ranked #5 in the world by QS World University Rankings and #7 by the Academic Ranking of World Universities, and the top recipient of NIH research funding among all US dental schools.
Following dental school, I pursued advanced post-graduate training at the Kois Center, where I refined my ability to assess how gum and bone health, tooth structure, bite alignment, and facial aesthetics all work together — and how imbalances in any of these areas can affect not just a patient’s smile, but their overall health. I recommend treatment based on the best available science, so patients can feel confident they’re receiving care that is thoughtful, proven, and tailored to their long-term wellbeing.
My approach to care goes beyond just teeth. I screen for oral cancer, misaligned bites, and sleep apnea — conditions that are often overlooked but can significantly impact overall health. I also offer cosmetic services to enhance the natural appearance of your smile, including black triangle closure — a treatment for the small gaps that can appear between teeth near the gumline, which many patients don’t realize is treatable. I enjoy collaborating with dental lab technicians to achieve ideal cosmetic outcomes for my patients. My focus is always on preserving the natural strength of your teeth and planning care with longevity in mind.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two young children. We love exploring the Pacific Northwest — hiking, mushroom hunting, sailing, and photography are among my favorite pastimes.
