MYTH! Many patients think when they wear a full or partial denture they do not need to worry about regular dental visits anymore. But this IS NOT a “set it and forget it” solution.
Partial denture wearers need to come in regularly to check the remaining teeth for dental diseases such as decay or gum inflammation. Additionally, the partial denture fit should be checked frequently along with the soft tissues that are covered when wearing. BONUS: we’re also able to ultrasonically clean the partial to remove stain and plaque build up.
For full denture wearers, besides allowing us to clean your denture, regular visits allow us to check the fit, wear and soft tissues under the denture. This will allow us to correct potential problems that can affect denture comfort.
