Meet Tina Olsson, DMD

Dr. Olsson grew up in Vancouver Washington and graduated from Columbia River High School. She and her family have military roots providing them opportunity to live all over the world. She returned to the Peninsula in 2012 and is excited to be settling back home, in the great Northwest.

Dr. Olsson earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency program in Landstuhl Germany and honed her skills in the US Army Kaiserslautern multi-specialty clinics. During active duty, she completed a tour in Baghdad providing dental care for our deployed soldiers and Iraqi nationals. Her husband remains active duty and Dr. Olsson enjoys the adventures that come with supporting his career.

Dr. Olsson practiced in a variety of clinical environments including field dentistry, hospital dentistry in medically compromised wards, boutique private practices in the DC area, corporate dentistry and has taught dentistry in an academic setting. She loves learning and growing professionally. As a general dentist she regularly attended ADA conferences, Spear Education courses and a variety of other hands on classes. She earned a Fellow designation with the AGD. After completing over 65 credit hours in the endodontic specialty and after almost a decade of general practice, she returned to school to complete a combined residency in Endodontics and Master’s program at the university of Washington.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American General Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, Pierce County Dental Association and the Kitsap Dental Association. She is also a member of the American Association of Endodontics and is currently working on Diplomate designation with the American Board of Endodontics. She participates in these organizations to show gratitude for the opportunities provided by her mentors and to those who work hard keep the fields of dentistry and endodontics organized. Dr. Olsson also teaches endodontics to pre-doctoral students and the Universtiy of Washington. She does that, again, to show appreciation, and because she enjoys interacting with new colleagues in the fields of dentistry.

Dr. Olsson’s research on endodontic dental materials has been accepted for publication and will go to print Sept 2017.
Dr. Olsson and her husband have three children. When she’s not practicing endodontics, she is content to spend time doing anything at all with her family.
